Mouthmoth Records Night March 2001 Thursday 22nd. February Is it a gig? Is it a club? Is it a bunch of people sitting around a few tables, listening to some electronic music being remixed live for them by the original artists? Could be. It's just that the original artists, the gathered ranks of Ayrshire's top-notch electronica label, Mothmoth are clearly a shy bunch and insist on sitting behind a weird wee sculpture thing and we can only see them when they stand up top play the odd bit of guitar. It's a welcome break to the usual jumping up and down whilst watching a band or Dj though. Frog Pocket, perhaps the best known of Mothmoth's current crop and tonight's highlight, they settle in nicely to cyclical grooves and haunting melodies after their opening wake-up call of assonance.
