THE MAGNIFICENTS

February 27th. 2003

Wee Red Bar, Edinburgh

4 star review ***

Scotland's most raucous live act returned to the stage, with a chance to try out new material from their upcoming second EP.

It's a good thing the venue was only a quarter full, because it meant they could experiment without word getting around about the odd dud they might play.

There were none. New songs such as Law Of The Underground and Digital Dirt sounded great for all their rough edges.

Lead screamer and keyboard player Tommy Stuart threw his amp to the floor at the end. There was no need aa the group already had our attention - and they should catch a major label's eye too.
